Stardome trip

Image
As part of our iExplore this term, we had the chance to visit the Stardome in Week 10 of Term 3. Moutere learners had been learning about planets, Apollo 11, the moon landing and other areas of interest as well. We first spent time in the Space Room where the instructor gave us lots of information about the missions to the moon and Mars as well as learning about the planets. We then completed a quiz while we explored the displays in the Space Gallery. Our trip ended with a visit to the planetarium where we got to have a night sky tour as well as watch a movie.

Learner Led Conferences

Image
Last week on Thursday our school finished at 12.30pm. All parents of learners had to book in a 10 minute interview time with a learning coach. Learners had to be present to talk and reflect on their learning over the last two terms so far. In preparation for this Moutere learners had a written task that they had to write up first and then publish to present. Thank you to all the parents that were able to make their appointment times and all our amazing learners who shared during the evening. Here are some photos from learner led conferences with the awesome learning coaches in Moutere.

iExperience: Wearable Arts

This term the learners have been building their capabilities in technology. They've managed to collaborate amongst their teams in creating an unconventional wearable art piece of art. We had a variety of provocations displayed during our lessons and the students managed to come up with amazing pieces.

Busy in Week 7

For the last few weeks learners in Moutere have been learning and practicing their speeches. Sara and Declan were 2 of our learners picked to compete in the OrmPS speech finals this week, where they did really well, nerves and all! Some of the Blue Group learners had a colouring competition running in Week 7 to raise awareness and the importance of Conservation. Linda, Beckham and Quintus led and managed this project as they wanted learners to think about how we can change and better our environment. The prizes were pumpkin seeds.
